DC CAP Scholars Announces New Partnership with Trinity Washington University

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DC CAP Expands University Partnership Network with Trinity Washington University — Strengthening Completion Pathways for DC Students

Washington, D.C. — The DC College Access Program (DC CAP Scholars) is proud to announce Trinity Washington University as the newest member of its University Partnership network. Beginning with the 2025/2026 application season, Trinity will be available as a new option for students applying through DC CAP’s University Partnership program — expanding high-impact pathways to four-year degree completion right here in the District.

Founded in 1897, Trinity has a long-standing reputation for advancing equity and opportunity in higher education. Located just minutes from the heart of Washington, D.C., Trinity blends real-world experience and personalized academic support to help students build the skills and confidence they need to succeed in college and career. Trinity enrolls more D.C. residents than any other private university in the city — making it an obvious choice and perfect fit for DC CAP’s network of partner universities.

“Trinity has been a trusted partner in this city for more than a century,” said Eric Waldo, President & CEO of DC CAP. “We are proud to deepen our relationship through this new partnership, which will help more D.C. students enroll, persist, and graduate into strong careers and bright futures.”

“Trinity is thrilled to expand our decades-long partnership with DC CAP in this new way to provide exceptional scholarship opportunities for talented D.C. students,” said Patricia McGuire, President of Trinity Washington University. “We are grateful to DC CAP for their generosity in supporting the educational aspirations of students who can thrive when financial barriers are removed.”

With a 13:1 student-to-faculty ratio, hands-on internships, and more than $11 million in aid awarded to D.C. undergraduates last year, Trinity combines affordability with deep support, a model that reflects DC CAP’s commitment to driving student success.

This partnership strengthens DC CAP’s dedication to opening doors for the District’s next generation of leaders by connecting them to institutions that believe in their potential and invest in their success from enrollment to completion.
