DC Public and Public Charter School graduates meeting eligibility criteria and enrolled in an accredited two-year, four-year college, university or vocational school, are eligible to apply for DC-CAP Last Dollar Awards, for up to $2,070 per year for five years. The awards are based on unmet need and are designed to close the financial need gap between the students' resources, financial aid and the actual college expenses. Since its inception, DC-CAP has awarded more than 14,350 scholarship awards totaling approximately $26 million dollars.
How do you become eligible?
You must be a graduate of a DC Public High School or public charter high school from 2009 to the present:

How to Apply for the Last Dollar Award

Submit a completed DC-CAP Authorization Form

Complete the FAFSA and DC TAG Applications

Submit copies of the following: Student Aid Report (SAR), Financial Aid Award Letter, and grades for the previous semesters/years in college.
