How do you become eligible?

  • You must be a graduate of a DC Public High School from 2001 to the present:
Anacostia* Dunbar* School Without Walls
Ballou Eastern MM Washington
Banneker Ellington Wilson
Bell* Luke C. Moore Woodson*
Cardozo* Phelps  
Coolidge Roosevelt*  

* Indicates Pilot High Schools from class of 2000


How to Apply for the Last Dollar Award

  • Submit a completed DC-CAP Authorization Form
  • Complete the FAFSA, DC TAG & DC LEAP Applications
  • Submit copies of the following: Student Aid Report (SAR), Financial Aid Award Letter, and grades for the previous semesters/years in college

    Note: The minimum GPA requirement to be eligible for the award is a 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students whose GPA falls below a 2.0 are encouraged to contact the Retention Office for academic counseling.

Last Dollar Award Priority Deadlines

  • Entering college freshmen for the Fall August 31
  • Upper Classmen Renewals for the Fall July 31
  • First time students entering in the Spring January 31
